HELB Loan application: To Know how to apply for HELB Loan follow these steps

  1. Visit our website www.helb.co.ke

  2. Click on “Apply for a Loan
  3. Click “Register Here” to register your credentials (First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, *ID Number, *Valid Email Address, Password) and Click “Sign Up”
  4. An *Activation Link is immediately sent to your personal email address.
  5. Login to your personal email address to access the HELB Portal *activation link and click on it.
  6. Login to the HELB Portal from the activation link
  7. Update Personal and Residence Details and Click “Save”
  8. Choose Appropriate Loan Product to Apply

Online services available on the Portal, HELB Loan Repayment Status, HELB Loan Clearance Certificate, HELB Loan disbursement status, HELB Smart Card

NB:

  1. *ALL USERS are required to create new accounts on the new website (Launched February 4th 2014)
  2. Ensure your *email address is accessible and you are able to login to your mail box. (All HELB communications are sent to your personal email address)
  3. Ensure your *ID Number is correct before sign up.
  4. Once you complete the process of registration (creating the account), all available loan products shall be displayed
  5. Please choose the specific loan product you wish to apply for
  6. If you do not rightly indicate your county and constituency of origin, then you will not be able to view the specific loan for your county or constituency in the list of loan products that you can choose from to apply
  7. If you do not rightly indicate your employment status (employed/unemployed) you will not be able to view loan products specific for either group.
  8. To correct your details of county/constituency/employment status, kindly click to apply on the undergraduate
    application, go to personal details, correct your county/constituency/employment status and save
  9. Go back to apply for loan and the application form for your county or constituency will be displayed, click apply and proceed.

HELB Afya Elimu Fund Loans – HELB FUNZO Loans

The Higher Education Loans Board – HELB, entered into partnership with Intra Health Kenya with a view to enhancing access and equity to higher education specifically to health workers by way of granting them loans and scholarships.

The Loans and scholarships target those already within the health sector workforce as well as those directly enrolled into approved institutions mandated in the training of health workers. The objectives of the program are:

  1. To increase the production of new health workers in Kenya.
  2. Promote quality and efficiency in delivery of health care.
  3. To increase the pool of experts in different and specialized health fields.
  4. Motivate and improve retention of health workers.

HELB Training Revolving Fund – TRF

HELB Training Revolving Fund was introduced as part of the efforts by the Government of Kenya to assist Public Servants access funds at subsidized interest rates for training in order to enhance knowledge and skills considered critical for performance improvement and achievement of National development goals.

The product is administered by Higher Education Loans Board in partnership with the Ministry of State for Public Service and was introduced in the year 2011/2012.
